Can I have 3-4 hours of sleep pleassee?

The current time right now is 2am in the morning and my eyes are about to bleed out of my head. My son is still up, playing and watching a Tigger & Pooh marathon on tv in his jumperoo and banging his pacifier happily. This little party animal never sleeps. Ever since I gave birth (8 months ago) We have not had more than 3 consecutive hours of sleep. As sleep deprived as I am, I remind myself that he is only this small for a short period of time and every minute I have with him should be cherished(even if I'm half awake). We are taking him to his 8 month check up this week, I'll be sure to ask the doctor for sleeping advice, I'm crossing my fingers that he has a magical solution besides the cry it out method. If not, I'm writing a letter to Oprah...she can figure out anything, right?

Here comes trouble!

My little man is taking advantage of his new found skill, causing trouble! In just one week, he is able to pull himself up in the playpen and crib, Scoot around the floor strapped into the booster seat! and my favorite ..... attempting to escape out of the swing! I now understand why some of you moms put those ridiculous leashes on your children.

I better get busy child proofing!

Help Get my Baby to Sleep!

One mistake I have made as a Mom so far is not having my son sleep in his crib in those first few weeks. He now HATES his crib, he wont even play in there for more than a few minutes. If me or my husband are not right next to him at night he will not fall asleep. Not only does he have to sleep with us but he also wakes up several times in the middle of the night to "snack"(breastfed). We have tried the CIO method (Cry it out) but he crys so much and so long that we can never go through with it. It's just so sad to hear him and see him looking at us through those little wooden bars in his crib, he crys like we put him in jail! Its heartbreaking. If you have any advice please share!

Baby's first Christmas

This was our son's first Christmas as well as our first Christmas together as a family. He was spoiled by my husband and I as well as his Grandma with many toys he has yet to figure out how to play with lol. One of my favorites is a bilingual Universal remote, he is always trying to grab our tv remote out of our hands so this has been the perfect toy to entertain him! I can't wait until next year when I can explain to him about Santa and the birth of Jesus.

I also experienced my first pig roast. I was intimidated by the large pig spread on the counter, head still attached, but this had to have been the best meat I've had in a long time! I hope everyone's Christmas was as nice as ours!

Love you Forever

My husband and our family keep getting onto me about cutting our sons hair. The problem is, I just can’t bring myself to pull our the scissors and give him a trim! You see, our 7 month old son has random patches of hair scattered on his head with a few very very long sporadic strands that stick up in the air. My husband jokes around and says he is going to be a grown man with a few long hairs all the way down to his butt. For the longest time I could not figure out why I became so sad when the haircut topic came up, until today. I realized the reason I am procrastinating cutting his hair is because to me, a hair cut symbolizes him growing up, and I so desperately want him to stay my baby. I feel like my emotions are that of a crazy person every time he reaches a new milestone, I get all excited for him, but then soon get saddened that my little boy is growing up too fast. Perhaps I am thinking selfishly, but I want him to be able to snuggle on my lap with a pacifier for the rest of his life.

Maybe this explains why my all time favorite Children's book is Love You Forever by Robert Munsch. The photo you see here is one of my favorite from the book, the mother just climbed up a window at her son's home to rock him to sleep. If you have never read Love you Forever, get it. I promise it will become one of your favorite as well.

First Cold

My son has his first cold. And like all other baby's "firsts" I find this one as cute as all the others. Don't get me wrong, I feel terrible for him that his little nose is running like a faucet, and luckily no fevers are present. But he seems just as happy as any other day, that is until I pull the syringe out. I'm making sure he gets all the kisses and cuddles he needs to feel better.

I'll be pulling out the Vicks humidifier tonight and hoping for a better tomorrow!
